Forum Vegetable Chitosan

I read an article that chitosan is good for reducing the cholesterol level. I was wondering if that was true. It's so hard for me to stick to a strict diet... blue cheese is my main temptation.

Actually the EFSA just posted a report about the use of vegetable chitosan (called Kionutrime) againt high cholesterol levels. Chitosan binds fat. But it shouldn't be used over long periods of time. Fat is necessary for the body and certain vitamins can only be absorbed through fat.
So if you want to use chitosan just every now and then when you crave for blue cheese, than it is completely fine. But you should stick to your diet and see a physician for controlling your colesterol.
